Jenny Levison is a theater and film artist, dancer, musician, social justice activist, and Yiddishist who likes to combine all these arts media and cultural influences to create multi-media devised theater in collaboration with other artists. Three notable works are Shtil, Mayn Corazon—A Yiddish Tango Cabaret, Don’t Kiss Me, I’m in Training, a play with artwork about transgendered surrealist Jewish artist Claude Cahun, and Ezekiel’s World, a multi-media stage adaptation of Michael Kovner’s graphic novel of the same name. Theater Coordinator at KlezKanada 2007-2009, Director of Performing Arts at The JCC in Manhattan 2011-2013, Creative Producer of the Jewish Plays Project 2013 and currently of the New York Klezmer Series. MFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
