The Bashevis Singers: New Yiddish Folk from Australia

Join KlezKanada and the Bashevis Singers for a concert of Australian Yiddishkayt! The Bashevis Singers are the children of generations of people who lived their lives in Yiddish. The sibling/cousin trio – Husky Gawenda, Evie Gawenda and Gideon Preiss – have released five albums of classic folk songs, reimagined poetry, and original works. Yiddish lives and breathes through their voices and melodies.

Presented in association with Ashkenaz Festival, and with the support of Canada Council for the Arts. The Bashevis Singers are in Canada thanks to generous support from The Kronhill Pletka Foundation.
