The Postwar Bandstand: Repertoire of the Jewish music bandstand in the 1950’s and ‘60’s
In this workshop, Jordan Hirsch will teach tunes heard from the 1950s/1960s simkhe bandstand, drawn from klezmer, khasidic, and Yiddish theatre traditions. The workshop will also focus on ways that musicians, from beginners to the most experienced, can get the most from their playing opportunities, whether in performance or while jamming with friends and colleagues.
