Additional Information
At KlezKanada’s Summer Retreat, participants will be served a carefully selected menu of vegetarian/pescatarian meals. This includes three freshly-prepared meals and two snacks daily. Our vision is to ensure accessible and healthy meals that accommodate the needs of our diverse community and that whenever possible, produce is sourced locally. Additional dietary restrictions will be accommodated for those who request them in their registration form.
We seek to balance our commitment to a Summer Retreat that welcomes people with a wide range of Jewish observance with costs, resources, and the needs of the program as a whole. Management and delivery of the food service is a significant part of the cost of the Summer Retreat program. The kitchen will not be under direct rabbinic supervision. However, all wines and snacks will be from a hechshered source. Participants may select the option of pre-packaged Rabbinically-certified meals upon registration at no additional cost.
KlezKanada is pleased to offer family discounts to make the Summer Retreat as accessible as possible for groups of parents/guardians and minors. This discount is not automatically applied but can be requested in the registration form.
Standard registration is available to families at an average 25% discount. Registration fees will be discounted upon invoicing for registration as follows:
First and Second Adult (18 yrs. +): 20% discount
Teens (13-17 yrs. old): 25% discount
Children (5-12 yrs. old): 30% discount
Children 4 and under are welcome without charge provided that they sleep in a playpen cot (provided by participants) or on a floor mattress.
Only one discount (either Family Discount or Work Exchange Program discount) can be applied to any person. The higher discount will apply for any member of a family group who participates in the WEP. However, family groups MAY also apply for our Bursary Program if they need additional financial assistance.
Participants may apply to be part of KlezKanada’s Work Exchange Program (WEP) at the 2025 Summer Retreat. Work Exchange Participants help to keep the Summer Retreat running smoothly and receive a discount on their registration fee. Click here to learn more and apply.
Bursaries
Supported by The Zita and Mark Bernstein Family Foundation, the Bursary Program at our Summer Retreat is intended to help make the retreat financially accessible to people who couldn’t otherwise afford to participate and do not qualify for the Azrieli Scholarship Program. Click here to learn more and apply.
The Azrieli Scholarship Program
The Azrieli Scholarship Program allows young artists and scholars of all backgrounds to attend KlezKanada’s annual Summer Retreat at a highly subsidized rate. We invite applications from candidates aged 18-36 who specialize in any field related to Jewish arts and culture. Candidates must provide a small portfolio of their work to apply. KlezKanada unequivocally supports open and diverse creative expression and a shared commitment to community care and to doing no harm. All participants must agree to the Code of Conduct when registering for the retreat or buying tickets to a KlezKanada event.

Recording Policy
We also expect that our attendees will familiarize themselves with and uphold our community guidelines.
Registered participants who cancel on or before Monday July 7th, 2025 will receive a full refund minus a $250 per person administration fee. Refunds after this date incur a $250 per person administration fee and an additional $250 per person fee to cover some of the committed costs to our vendors. Add-ons for bedding or shuttle tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
No refunds or discounts will be issued for cancellation on or after August 1st. This applies to full cancellations, late arrival or early departure. The only exception to this policy would be in the event of a medical emergency, which would be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Azrieli Scholarship recipients who cancel on or before August 1st will be subject to a $50 cancellation fee. No refund will be issued after this date.
In the event KlezKanada cancels the Summer Retreat for any reason, paid participants will be refunded in full for their registration, bedding, and shuttle ticket purchases.
We continue to approach our programming with caution and care and our 2025 Summer Retreat will again include COVID-19 protocols designed to keep our community safe. Click here to learn more about COVID-19 safety at our 2025 Retreat.
