Join us on November 19th for an online memorial for Dr. Hy Goldman, one of the founders of KlezKanada and a champion of the organization. The memorial will feature performances and memories from KlezKanada staff, board members, faculty, and long-time participants. There will be an opportunity to break into smaller groups to share memories of Hy as well as space to share written memories that will be compiled into an album. We will share more information here as the program is confirmed.

Hy Goldman passed away peacefully on the morning of May 19th, 2023. One can’t describe or define KlezKanada without Hy Goldman, and one can’t describe or define Hy Goldman without KlezKanada. At KlezKanada’s Summer Retreat, Hy and friends brought together their generation of Yiddishists with the vibrant Yiddish music and cultural scene of the klezmer revival.
